Lake Baikal located in eastern Siberia is the largest and cleanest supply of freshwater on the planet. It has long been admired as the"Sacred Gem" and " Pearl in Siberia ". It is said that Lake Baikal is the deepest lake on Earth and holds 20% of the world's freshwater supply, which is more than the amount of water of the Five Great Lakes in the North America combined. It is also said that humanity could survive at least for forty years solely on the water of Lake Baikal.

The last four remaining teams in the CBS Hit Show The Amazing Race – Series 12 made their way to Youth Park in Taipei, Taiwan to participate in a local custom used to reduce stress. Team members had to take off their shoes and, with their bare feet, walk down a 220-foot path made of jagged stones, turn around and walk back.

Ron & Christina arrived at Youth Park ready for the potentially painful walk across the stones. While Ron had little difficulties with the jagged rocks, giving credit to his "calloused feet," Christina squealed and writhed in pain, saying, "My feet felt like they were getting eaten by piranhas." After finally finishing the grueling walk, Ron & Christina opened their clue instructing them to travel to the next Pit Stop at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Plaza.

Nick & Don and TK & Rachel completed the jagged stone path before the bickering couple arrived. Only Nick & Don's inability to find a taxi to the Pit Stop kept Nate & Jen in the race as the pair navigated the sharp stones trying to clear the thoughts of pain and potential elimination from their heads.

Complementary therapies are set to be regulated in the UK for the first time from April 2008.

A new voluntary self-regulation body will be able to strike off incompetent practitioners and set minimum standards of qualification for therapists.

Patients who are treated by a registered practitioner will be able to complain to the Natural Healthcare Council if they believe their treatment has been sub-standard or boundaries breached.

Among the practices to be covered will be aromatherapy, reflexology, massage, nutrition, shiatzu, reiki, yoga, homoeopathy, cranial osteopathy and the Alexander and Bowen techniques.

The mystery of the missing honeybees may have a simple solution. But will anyone pay attention?

Over the past few months there have been a stream of daily updates about colony collapse disorder (CCD), the phenomenon in which bees abandon their hives and disappear – a potential disaster for food crops that require pollination.

Most of the updates come from newspapers that detail local incidences of CCD. And most of them read the same: a description of the overall problem followed by interviews with local beekeepers. Each of these accounts notes the various theories about what causes CCD (all speculation at this point): fungi, bacteria, pesticides, parasitic mites, weakened immune systems, and even interference from mobile phone towers.

This week an entirely different CCD article appeared titled "No ORGANIC Bee Losses."
