On Campus Course Information

Pre-requisite - Completion of Foot Reflexology Program (UCR or recognized equivalent)

"To open a business is easy; To keep it open is very difficult."
Ancient Chinese Proverb

Health is big business. "In 1990, Americans paid 13.7 billion dollars for visits to alternative medical practitioners, 10.3 billion dollars was out of pocket. The Health business has exploded in the last decade. In 1993, 1 in 3 made 425 million visits to alternative practitioners, exceeding the number of visits to primary care physicians, which was 388 million", so reports Life Association News.

"According to the Consumers Association, 9 out of 10 members who have used complementary medicine would use it again, 80% would recommend it to others. 50% of patients surveyed after treatment report "greatly improved", and 40% reported "improved" or "slightly improved", 88% reported that they still experienced improvements after 10 weeks". Source "The Handbook for Complementary Medicine, Stephen Fulder.

The World Health Organization has stated that Reflexology is one of the fastest growing alternative therapies in the world today. It should come as no surprise that Reflexology is a must for the 21st century. There is a great need to make this age-old therapy an essential part of everyday life for everyone.

Scientific research is currently underway throughout the globe and this is fundamentally important to the continuing growth and respectability of Reflexology. Just like any other therapy so much depends on the practitioner in the art of using this technique.

The public has an increasing awareness of complementary therapies as they perceive the need to have a fit and healthy lifestyle.

How ready are you as a Reflexologist to take advantage of this up-swing in health awareness?

Do you know where you want to be in one month, six months or even one year? Without planning - every event will be a surprise and not all will be pleasant. This course specifically focuses on the very unique industry of Reflexology and will take you through the step-by-step process of planning how you want your business to be.

In North America, one in ten practitioners in the Wholistic Health Field makes a decent income. The other nine live on the poverty line and depend on other incomes to survive. How can that be with health trends going the way they are? To take advantage of the huge interest in health and be a financially successful Reflexologist, you HAVE to have a serious, workable, practical business plan in place. So how prepared are you? How well can you answer the following questions?

Questions for Every Reflexologist

  1. Did you know that Reflexology is classed as part of the service industry?

  2. How well do you know the service industry?

  3. What services do you offer? Basic, Advanced or Therapeutic Reflexology?

  4. Have you conducted a market survey of your competition?

  5. Do you know how to carry out a market survey?

  6. If you don't know who you are competing against - how can you be competitive?

  7. How do you plan to attract new clients?

  8. Why should someone pay you for a Reflexology session?

  9. What do you do different from other Reflexologists?

  10. Where do you work?

  11. How much do you charge?

  12. What do you want people to know about you and your Reflexology business?

Having ready, positive answers to these questions - can mean the difference between financial success and failure in business! Which do you choose?

What is your advertising plan? Do you have one? If you don't tell clients and prospective clients about the services you offer, how will they know you are looking for their business? Word of mouth advertising can be limiting!

Have you created brochures and flyers? Are they exciting, innovative? Are they an EFFECTIVE way of getting your message out to all your potential customers?
